DAY 5 - 6: TAMBOPATA RIVER
These days we challenge exiting class III
- IV rapids, amid exuberant jungle vegetation, we take walks to
explore the wonders of the Amazon and swim under pristine waterfalls.

DAY
7: TAMBOPATA RIVER
We leave behind of colorful birds and butterflies
as well as gracious monkeys.(BLD)the big rapids and paddle
in silent tranquil waters as we reach the flat lands. We enter a
magical world of wonders home of wils animals: tapirs, capibaras,
giant otters, different species of birds and monkeys and even jaguars,
are to be seen. We camp ata a relaxing beach from where we can take
hikes on trails to explore more. (BLD)

8: TAMBOPATA RIVER / MACAW LICK
After few more hours of quiet paddling we
reach Tabara River, a tributary of the Tambopata, where a motor
canoe will be waiting to take us to a rustic lodge, close to the
"Colpa", where we can take hikes on trails to explore
more. (BLD)

9: MACAW LICK / PUERTO MALDONADO
Before breakfast, at first light, we take
a short walk to the "Colpa of the Guacamayos" (Macaw Lick),
the largest known Macaw Lick where on a normal day, hundreds of
Macaws and other parrots come in the morning to lick the salty rich
clay. This is one of the greatest birding spectacles in the world
and a unique experience for photographers.
After lunch we continue down river on a motor canoe. We may visit
some typical settlers´huts and gold panning operations. Arrive
to Pto. Maldonado City that was found by rubber collectors, goldminers,
and timber and oil explorators. Overnight in hotel. (BLD)
